I have two young children and a full time job which I fit into three and a half days. I had been suffering with stress at work which, when coupled with a few unresolved issues in my personal life, came together to stop me sleeping. Over a period of about three weeks my sleep quickly dwindled to around 1.5 hours a night, sometimes as one amount, sometimes in small instalments. This left me exhausted and in no fit state to tackle the everyday stresses and strains of a busy job and two young children!

After the first session of acupuncture, I felt noticeably calmer, although if I am honest, initially there was little difference to my sleep. However after session two, I slept for three hours in a block which may not sound like much but made me feel able to take on the world again. After a course of around five or six treatments, I found my sleep problems totally disappeared and six months on I am now sleeping around six or seven hours a night, good for any parent!

I came to Acupuncture That Works following a recommendation from my wife who had experienced firsthand the benefits of this practice.

Being a keen runner, but having suffered for months with knee tendon problems I was willing to try anything to aid my recovery and ease the constant nagging pain. Physiotherapy sessions alone were producing positive, but slow results.

In truth, I approached my first acupuncture session with a level of scepticism. How wrong could I have been? Within 20 minutes, the immediate pain disappeared completely, and my leg felt better than it had in months. Over the next few days, the aching returned but to a lesser extent. I completed a course of treatments, and after each session the pain relief was immediate, but more importantly, the time it took for the symptoms to return extended, to the point where I am now completely pain free and back running long distances.

I was very sceptical when Emma said she could help me with my persistent issues with my torn calf muscle.  After having only 1 session of treatment the pain halved and after the second session the pain completely went.  Emma completely changed my scepticism into optimism when it came to acupuncture.   When I started to experience issues with back ache I couldn’t wait to speak to Emma and again after only a few sessions of acupuncture the pain was completely eliminated.  If ever I encounter any other ailments I will immediately be on the phone to Emma to get her to weave her magic. I must confess that I’d been a huge sceptic of Acupuncture and didn’t think for one minute that it would be something that could help me. How wrong could I be? Not only did the needles not hurt at all, despite my underlying worry that they would) but the whole process was calming, soothing and restorative. At the end of the first session I felt a little light headed but much improved, but for me the big difference was the next morning, when the persistent pain that made me try acupuncture in the first place, was hardly noticeable at all.  Six weeks on and my pain has gone – I think it’s because of Acupuncture That Works!  Thank Emma.
