Revitalisation

The process of revitalising the body through acupuncture is well established, and probably the best know of these procedures is what is known as ‘Cosmetic Acupuncture’.

What is Cosmetic Acupuncture or Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture?

Cosmetic Acupuncture is essentially the use of Acupuncture and massage to revitalise the facial areas.  Much as a facial treatment at a Beauty Salon can help your look, so too Cosmetic Acupuncture aims to help with that feeling.  It uses the principle of acupuncture and massage techniques to invigorate the blood and Qi (pronounced Chee), ensure an improved flow around your face and therefore to promote a natural healthy aura in patients after treatment.

The treatment typically involves a combination of facial massage and the application of a range of needles specifically designed for this treatment.  The needles are generally applied at the surface level and therefore you should have no concerns about them penetrating into your face. The starting point is the insertion of the needles, however as the treatment progresses these are removed and a Tui Na massage, then a more gentle massage is used to stimulate the Qi and blood flow.  After around 40 minutes the treatment will be complete and you should be able to feel the benefits.  And the next time someone says “Wow, you look great” then you’ll understand the benefits of Cosmetic Acupuncture.

Sessions typically last around 40 minutes and depending on the condition of your face you may require a number of sessions to see a marked improvement.  We will be able to advise you on the likely number of sessions on your initial consultation.  Please note that on occasions having facial acupuncture can bruise the skin around your face.  We will assess you on your first treatment to ensure that this is not the case wherever possible.
