IBS
Irritable Bowel Syndrome is the term given to a collection of symptoms, some of which may be familiar to you. They include bloating, abdominal pain, flatulence and a change in regular bowel habits, as well as bleeding from the lower lining of the bowel.
The British Acupuncture Council had a comprehensive resource on this which you can access here, detailing not only the symptoms and treatments available but also the medical research papers currently in print which demonstrate that acupuncture can help to reduce or in some cases, put into remission, patients with IBS symptoms.
Patients with IBS may already be receiving treatment from their GP including a range of drugs which are available on the market to mitigate the symptoms. Acupuncture looks to work with existing treatments and concentrates on releasing the Qi (Chee) thereby allowing the body to heal.
Here at Acupuncture That Works we have extensive experience with IBS and will be happy to discuss with you how acupuncture could help to release your symptoms.
