At Acupuncture That Works we are delighted to now be able to offer a range of massages including Lava Shell Relax Massage.
Lava Shell massage is slightly different to traditional massage techniques in that it uses a type of heat treatment with Tiger Striped shells as a massage tool. The heat within the shells is produced from lava gel sachets or a chemical activator that is inserted into the shell beforehand. This type of massage can be used as a treatment for a variety of conditions/ injuries and works best when coupled with acupuncture treatments to aid the healing processes within the body.
The massage works by focusing on both the patient’s mental and physical health; promoting the circulation of blood around the body to remove any blockages, soothing any physical aches and pains and reducing any swelling. The heat from the shells will not only help to relax any tension in your muscles but also works by emitting calcium into the skin to help heal and rejuvenate.
Generally it is believed that massage is strictly for relieving tension but it actually allows for much more from helping to fight and prevent a number of medical conditions to being used for cosmetic improvements. The massage of lava shells can be used to aid mobility and accelerate healing but equally can also be used to improve blood flow. The movement and temperature of the shells allows the blood vessels to expand and contract which improves the patient’s circulation. This affects a number of systems within the body in from the cardiovascular system to the lymphatic system. Promoting the regulation of these systems can not only help prevent disease and infection but also aid in fighting any existing conditions. Cosmetically speaking this massage is also very popular in aiding skin rejuvenation with the massage and temperature helping to stimulate circulation in the face and neck allowing a firmer and more toned appearance.
